Wer sowas selbst sehen will:

  4. Tzindaro Says:

Reich claimed to have not only seen, but to have actually fought with UFOs. I spoke to Eva Reich, Tom Ross, Robert McCullough, Bill Moise, Peter Reich, and Ellsworth Baker, all of whom were present when Reich saw what he saw. They all saw exactly the same things. They also made photographs. There is absolutely no doubt about what they saw.
But there is nothing in the actual observational data that indicates what it was they were seeing. They saw lights in the sky. That is all. They saw those lights react to a cloudbuster. They saw changes in background counts at the times the objects were there, and when the cloudbuster was aimed at it.
But the data would fit just as well if Reich had never heard of the big UFO flap that was in all the news at the time. If he had never heard of a UFO, he would have tried to fit what he was seeing into the known facts of orgone physics. And in that case he would have come up with something like this:
    1. Under some conditions, when highly excited, as by a cloudbuster operating nearby, or when atomic bombs are being readied to set off, orgone energy in the sky luminates, just as excited orgone in a vacor tube glows in the dark.
    2. The glowing areas of the sky react to drawing with a cloudbuster, which drains off the excitation, just as it drains off the charge of a normal cloud.
    3. The excess charge makes people on the ground under the area of excess charge feel sick, just as the over-charge in a laboratory can do.
    4. When the atmosphere is so charged up that parts of it start to luminate, clouds break up, as one would expect from high charge surrounding them.
There is no need for the extraterrestrial hypothesis to account fully for what Reich and the others with him actually saw. It was only the influence of the surrounding culture of the times that made him think of spaceships instead of a new observation of orgone energy phenomena as an explanation.
Reich presented his conclusions with so much assuredness and certainty that the only ones who doubted him were those who did not accept the whole idea of orgone energy in the first place.
I have also spoken to Jerome Eden about it. I have spoken to Richard Blasband about it. Both of them saw similar things in the sky while cloudbusting. So have I . But I see no evidence that the things in the sky were spaceships. They were lights in the sky. That is all. What caused the lights is an entirely separate question from if they were seen.
For many years I accepted the spin Reich put on them, that they were spaceships from some other world. But then I came across a book that explains them in terms that, fitted into the orgone theory, make more sense. The book is Earth Lights, By Paul Deveroux. When I read that, I realized that what Reich was seeing was the lumination of areas of the sky from orgonotic excitation, sometimes from atomic bombs being readied to go off, and sometimes from the effects of his cloudbusters.
It is a serious tragedy that Reich made the error of getting his fledgling science mixed up in the populist UFO field. For over 60 years now, orgonomy has struggled to incorporate this field, with no success. There is nothing in the vast UFO literature that in any way resembles anything in CWS. They are unrelated fields and do not belong together.
Orgonomy is a natural science. A spaceship from another world in not a natural phenomena and therefore not a topic of investigation in the natural sciences. It is a field of investigation for military intelligence, not scientists.

  6. Tzindaro Says:

There have been countless speculations on what an extraterrestrial culture would be like. Almost all of them have started with the assumption that however different from the cultures of earth, they would follow the same basic trajectory in their history. And there is an assumption that if they are capable of getting here from another planet, they must be farther along that path than we are.

So, let us examine some aspects of our own history and see where our own culture came from and where it is going.

The story we were told in school is simple: humans started out as simple hunter-gatherers, living in a state of nature, then, after some millions of years, suddenly changed to peasant-farmers, using metal tools instead of stone, growing food instead of searching for it wherever it might be, and living in large dense concentrations under kings and religious rulers. Since then, we are told, it has been a steady march to ever-greater technological mastery over the environment, interrupted only by wars and occasional natural catastrophes

The story is simple in it’s outlines and most people believe it. In fact, enormous peer pressure is exerted upon anyone who expresses any doubt. But the whole story is wrong. Nothing of the kind ever took place.

As is agreed by almost everyone, humans originated ( however that may have been, and for whatever reasons ) a long time ago. For most of the time since then they lived as hunter-gatherers. They have only begun to use metal implements, organize into large-scale communities, fight organized wars, use most forms of technology, and countless other innovations, within the last 10,000 years. Indeed, most of the main innovations are as recent as only the last 5,000 years or so.

If you backtrack the earth and other solar system objects by computer, you find that starting around 12,000 years ago the earth intercepted a swarm of meteors in space. These interceptions have recurred every seven or eight centuries since, though with diminishing intensity each time. And each time they occur, changes take place in human history.

There were repeated and drastic changes in the global climate. There were mass extinctions, especially of the largest and most important members of most continental ecosystems. There was massive desertification. And humans began to change from hunters and gatherers to farmers and city-dwellers.

Cities depend on farming. Large organized empires depend on farming. To fight a war, an empire must have both a large enough population and a surplus of food to feed non-productive soldiers. Nothing we would call civilization could exist without farming. What does farming depend on?

You can dig up enough ground with a digging stick to grow a little extra food to supplement gathering wild foods, but you cannot plough a large enough field to feed yourself and several other people that way. Farming had to wait for the invention of the plough. And you cannot plough up much land with a plough made of wood. The plough had to wait for the use of metal.

In the times before the meteors hit the earth, the earth was much more highly charged with orgone than it is today. The meteor storms discharged a lot of that charge and it has never recovered to what it was before that. And the use of metals had to wait for the reduction in charge because until then metals could not be used. It hurt to touch anything made of metal. A touch would cause a painful shock every time.

So the discharging of a large part of the global orgone charge was the needed pre-condition for development of a civilization that uses metals in it’s technology, gets most of it’s food from farming, and has a large enough population to have urban populations that do other things instead of gathering food for a living. And if there had not been a swarm of meteors in the right orbit to hit the earth, we would all still be hunter-gatherers with a stone-age technology.

So any extraterrestrials we encounter in space will not have a modern-type technology unless they too have had a similar experience in their history. Civilizations do not happen inevitably. They happen because of a specific set of environmental conditions and while the laws of biology indicate there could be, indeed probably are, many planets with humans more or less like those on earth, even possibly many that are identical to the degree we can detect, they are almost certain to be hunter-gatherers, not urban engineers.

But there will be other difference also. The same meteor storms that made possible development of metal-using technology also caused certain changes in the behavior of the vast majority of human cultures. Maybe a few rainforest tribes escaped the devastation and environmental changes enough to remain unarmored, but the majority of humans did not.emerge unscathed. Almost all human cultures literally went insane from the trauma and have remained so ever since.

And the cultures that have developed since the meteor storms are dependent on that insanity. To give only one example, no healthy person, feeling alive and aware of his own body and emotions, would consent to spend his working life deep in a mine,.digging for coal or iron. So in a society of healthy people, coal and iron would not be dug. People brought up free and capable of independent thinking would not join a regimented army. So large empires would not exist. People would not live in large cities unless they were out of contact with their biological instincts. So there would be no large cities.

So any extraterrestrial civilization that becomes able to make ships able to carry them from there to here will have to suffer from the same mental illness that prevails on earth. If they do not, they will remain hunter-gatherers and not develop a technology able to bring them here.

This means that any extraterrestrial culture we contact will almost certainly resemble our own. Not in all details, just as there are some minor differences between the cultures of China and Europe, but in the essential matter of being armored.

There may be some like the Klingons, violent and aggressive, and some like the Vulcans, cold and detached, and some like the Bajorans, mystical, and some like the Frengi, acquisitive to an extreme, and some like the Romulans, regimented with rigid discipline, and some like the Borg, all individuality submerged in a collective mind.

But there will be none who are emotionally healthy; if they are able to get into space, they will have to an armored race, suffering from the same constellation of emotional illnesses that mankind has suffered from for the past several thousand years. Otherwise, they will not be in space; they will be hunting for food in a vast wilderness on a planet that remains almost entirely in it’s natural condition.

And all this is true regardless of any minor differences they may exhibit from humans of earth. It is true of all mammals on earth, not just humans. It will be true regardless of if a species is telepathic or not, even to the extent of being a Borg-like collective mind. Unless a species is too different from us for us to be able to communicate, their basic psychological functions will be the same.

And since the root cause of human armoring is a cosmic accident, one not likely to have happened anywhere else that human life has arisen, there will be no aliens coming here to contact us. We will have to go to them.

Predator Defense – The USDA Wildlife Services‘ War on Wildlife

Petition targets ‚rogue‘ killings by Wildlife Services – Washington Post

Congressmen question costs, mission of Wildlife Services agency …

In the late 1970s and early 80s there was a rash of unexplained deaths of cattle in the western United State, many of the carcasses strangely mutilated as if by surgery. The more tender internal organs were often missing as if surgically removed, along with exterior tender parts such as eyes, lips, etc. And in some cases, bones were broken, even when there was no place nearby that the animal could have fallen from.

The strangeness of these deaths and mutilations led some UFO buffs to the conclusion that UFOs were involved. Fundamentalist Christians placed the blame on Satanic cults seeking animal parts for sacrifice rituals. And skeptics dismissed the whole thing as only normal predation by wild animals.

An FBI investigation led nowhere. That caused conspiracy theorists to claim there was some secretive governmental agency involved and the authorities were covering something up.

The conspiracy theorists were right. There WAS a government agency responsible and there WAS a cover-up. But it was not the Armed Forces or the CIA, the usual suspects of the conspiracy-minded, this time. The Armed Forces and the CIA had nothing to do with it. It was a program by the Department Of Agriculture to deliberately poison wildlife on behalf of cattle ranchers. And now, some 40 years later, that program is still going on.

Petition targets ‚rogue‘ killings by Wildlife Services – Washington Post

What was happening at that time was a test of a new poison that could, among other symptoms, cause muscular convulsions that could break bones. This poison was spread around the landscape indiscriminately over a rather wide area of the West before the agency noticed that cattle were likely to eat it too. When they realized that, of course they said nothing to the public.

The deaths were caused by this poison planted by agents of the Department of Agriculture on behalf of the cattle ranchers themselves. The cattle were killed unintentionally by accidentally eating poison left out to kill predators such as bears, mountain lions, and wolves, that were considered a threat to cattle. The poison used could, in sufficient doses, cause muscle convulsions that could break bones much as a fall from a height would do.

Then, after the cattle were dead, small predators, ferrets, weasels, rats, and other small animals with very sharp, tiny teeth that would leave marks that looked like a scalpel had been at work, animals too lightweight to leave noticeable tracks even in soft ground that would clearly show tracks of a man or large predator, would find the carcass, select the most tender parts, and often, in search of tender internal organs, enter the carcass via the mouth or anus, leaving no trace of an entry.

In some case agents of the Department of Agriculture may have found the carcass and inspected it by helicopter, leaving scorch marks on the ground near the carcass. These marks contributed to the developing myth of UFOs being responsible for the deaths, a myth the agency responsible did nothing to correct. Instead, they quietly switched to another poison, one less attractive to cattle, and quite sensibly kept their mouths shut.

And the eventual investigation by the FBI found that another Federal agency was responsible for the deaths, so of course no public announcement of that finding was made. Nothing surprising about that. Just business as usual. Federal agencies usually will cover up for each other.

And today, some 40 years later, there are still religious cranks who think Satanic cults looking for body parts to use in rituals did it, and conspiracy theorists who think it was some military research project. And of course there are Reichians who think it was UFOs. Of course.

Bizarre Earthquake Lights Tied to Rifts in Earth

This is almost certainly what Reich saw in both Maine and Arizona and mistook for UFOs.

The lights he saw were probably caused by the excitation of the preparations for nuclear tests in Nevada, and in some cases, by the excitation of his own cloudbuster and orur. He failed to make the connection with the similar lumination he had seen in his VACOR tubes because he was influenced by the culture of his times, at a time when large numbers of people, seeing the lights caused by nuclear weapons testing, were reporting UFOs.

Some delusional individuals, or publicity seekers with an ax to grind, claimed to have had close personal contact with space visitors. Reich accepted those fictional reports without any critical thinking. It apparently never occurred to him that these people could be lying or imagining things.

Then, based on the DOR associated with the sightings,. he went a step farther and came to believe the UFOs were hostile and attacking earth. And since he could see how the cloudbuster affected them, he believed he was fighting an interplanetary war against the invasion forces.

And to this day, many people who are incapable of thinking for themselves and need Reich to do their thinking for them, still believe this scenario and include the fictional UFOs from other planets in the field of „orgonomy· on no other evidence except that Reich said so.

    Science Recorder
Bizarre Earthquake Lights Tied to Rifts in Earth

  9. Tzindaro Says:

Remember that it has now been almost 60 years since Reich thought an invasion was going to happen soon, but it still has not happened.

And in those same 60 years, no leaks of any extraterrestrial secret contacts with the military, no announcement of any revolutionary technology for aircraft propulsion, no discovery of any hidden left-over Nazi bases in Antarctica, no hidden civilization in the jungles of Brazil, no Tibetan monastery with anti-gravity powers, nothing to show that all these theories of what the UFOs are ever had anything to them.

But if the same lights were to be seen today for the first time, nobody would jump to the UFO conclusion. Since earthquake lights are now known and understood, that is what most people would think of first.

Reich was a victim of his times and culture. We cannot blame anyone for not knowing something that has not yet been discovered. But of all people alive then, Reich was the one in the best position to have realized what it was he was seeing. That he did not, is an example of how much culture influences science.

  10. Tzindaro Says:

Jerome Eden used to take groups of students out into the desert and teach them how to defend earth against extraterrestrial invasion because he thought the American and Soviet governments were both infiltrated by extraterrestrials and would not protect this planet. Eden was one of the best cloudbuster operators and his book on cloudbusting is the best ever written. But he was so into the UFO invasion hypothesis that he wrote a lot more on that than on all the rest of orgonomy combined. And that fixation of his made him seem like a nut to most of the people who would otherwise have taken his writings on orgonomy seriously.

Now, today, we have Peter Robins aspiring to Eden’s mantle as the chief proponent of the Reichian UFO connection. Robins claims to have evidence of U.S. Air Force use of cloudbusters. He also is well-known in the UFO field. His book on one alleged UFO sighting in England includes two chapters plus an appendix on orgonomy and cloudbusting. His claim of Air Force cloudbusting rests on testimony by a Christian fanatic who was kicked out of the Air Force for alcoholism and who was also the main witness to the UFO incident. Since I know from my own experiences how unlikely it is that there really is any Air Force cloudbusting, I am reasonably skeptical and suspect the same degree of validity can be ascribed to the UFO testimony from the same witness.

There is no good reason to see any connection between UFOs and scientific orgone biophysics except that orgone biophysics provides an orgonomic, natural-scientific explanation for the lights in the sky that have been mistaken for UFOs. It is unfortunate for the fate of his work that Reich did not see that.

There are a lot of things in the sky that are seen but cannot be explained. And there could very well be a lot of inhabited planets out there. And there could even be some of them that have space travel and have visited earth and even been seen by earthlings. But there is no credible evidence that there is any connection between that and what Reich and his crew saw in Arizona.

  11. Tzindaro Says:

It is hard enough to get a fair hearing for the real findings of orgonomy without also having to convince people of things that could not be better suited to arouse skepticism if they were intentionally planned to do just that. .

For example, publishing articles in orgonomic journals that hold conspiracy theories and UFO tales undermines the credibility of the scientific articles published in those same journals. Just as giving Robins a forum at a conference on orgonomy lessens the credibility of the rest of the presentations.

I understand that the motive is to showcase all the varied aspects of the total orgonomic paradigm, and the thinking is that since Reich wrote what he did on UFOs, those writings are a part of his „findings“ and should not be ignored. But there should be some attempt to place them in perspective by offering different opinions on the subject and allowing the general public to see that orgonomy, as a field of science, does not stand still and rest forever on whatever Reich said, but is still active and searching for new facts and new interpretations of old facts instead of simply demanding faithfulness to a doctrine laid down long ago.

Not only would the natural scientific knowledge of orgonomy benefit from re-examination of the UFO claims made by Reich when the field was still in it’s infancy, but the removal of the UFO stigma from the rest of the field would place the whole subject of orgonomy in a better position to be taken seriously.

I would be willing to debate Peter Robins at a conference sometime, or in a series of articles in some journal, even in one of the more science-oriented UFO journals, but I doubt he would be interested in such a debate. Yet it is exactly that kind of debate that distinguishes science from religion. In real science, opposing views are vigorously argued between adherents and there is a chance for the audience to see what the issues are and what the evidence is. In orgonomy, there is instead a tendency to close ranks and refuse to debate with opponents. This is more characteristic of faith-based groups under siege than evidence-based groups with the confidence of strong evidence behind what they say.

But I do not expect orgonomy to ever clean up it’s act and go from UFO beliefs to natural science as a way to account for Reich’s experiences. Reich was so much bigger than life that everything he touched will forever stand in his shadow and none of his latter-day epigones is going to change anything he said.

And the rest of the world will therefore continue to consider orgonomy as crazy. Why shouldn’t they?

    • Tzindaro Says:

Most of the „shape-changing“ UFOs are probably of the same nature as the „UFOs“ seen by Reich, localized luminations of patches of orgone in the sky in reaction to some localized source of orgonotic excitation, not real UFOs. The fanciful explanations of these sightings as craft from other dimensions or from the future, etc., are only dreamed up by people ignorant of orgone energy, which can fully explain them without going into unproven speculations.

Orgonomy has nothing to learn from the UFO field. Reich simply made a mistake in conflating the lights he saw with the UFOs being talked about at the time. Today, more than two generations later, we know there were no real UFOs. The whole idea was nothing but a silly fad of the 50s. On the other hand, more than 60 years on, the orgone theory has stood the test of time and been confirmed many times by many people. It makes no sense today, with so much strong evidence for orgone energy having been gathered over the past 60 years to reject an orgonomic explanation for such sightings.

      • stephan Says:

In some cases solid craft-like objects reportedly changed shape, dematerialized, fused with other objects etc.

Reich himself reported seeing a solid object. And it was not just a fad- there are reports dating centuries back.

The fact that something LOOKED like a solid object does not prove it really WAS one. Reich was not infallible. He could be mistaken.

I did not say no solid UFOs could exist. What I said was that if they do exist, they do not have anything to do with orgonomy, the science of the life energy. If the things seen by Reich were not UFOs, there could be UFOs, but they would have no connection with orgonomy.

Yes, there are reports dating back centuries, but that still does not connect them to orgone energy regardless of how many people have seen them, or for how long. And UFOs were a big thing in the 50s, but have long ago faded from public awareness and have been mostly forgotten. If that is not a fad, what is?

If it LOOKED like a solid object your distinction between luminous objects and „real“ UFOs is senseless

WR also observed a cigar-like object

On the other hand we have „real“ UFOs, solid-LOOKING objects changing shape, materializing, disappearing into thin air like vapor…?

You cannot COPLETELY separate these two kinds of phenomena. Even if they were, both would be interesting for orgonomy (radiation etc.)

As far as I remember there were sighting with both solid objects and luminous balls

            • Tzindaro Says:

A localized glowing energy concentration could very look like a solid object, especially to someone already predisposed to expect solid objects and not aware there could be localized packets of luminous energy. The fact that it seemed solid to the unaided eyesight does not prove it really was solid.

If the lights Reich saw were orgone energy packets, not solid objects, there is not much to connect his sightings with any sightings by other people if they saw real solid objects. If there really are any solid UFOs, and if anybody has ever seen them, they have nothing to do with what Reich saw. If Reich saw orgone concentrations glowing due to excitation from either atomic bombs or his own cloudbusters, any real UFOs seen by other people are nothing to do with orgonomy unless there is some reason to think there are real UFOs that are somehow powered by orgone energy or making use of it somehow. And if Reich thought the energy lights he was sening were UFOs, other people could make the same mistake, so if a sighting includes some orgone related effects, that is not evidence of UFOs using orgone; it is evidence the sighting was of abn orgone effect, not of a real UFO.

              • stephan Says:

Many „ifs“- so where do you draw the line between solidobjects and solid-looking lights? What about Reich´s sightings of rather dark objects?

Even if there is a clear distinction, if „real UFOs“ do not draw orgone energy, they certainly must interact with it like nuclear energy does. There many speculations about the energy „real UFOs“ use. Some say it´s vacuum or ether- which is close to orgone

Just google „UFO change shape“ and you find reports on unidentified solid objects, NOT luminations or light balls:

On 18 November 1993, at 10:15 pm, Messrs du Plessis and Venter, residents of Sasolburg, observed a craft arriving from the direction of Vereeniging. The craft departed in a flash in the direction of Parys, but returned some three minutes later. The craft, similar in appearance to a water droplet, was observed to change colour and shape. With time individual lights were distinguished, and the body was determined to be cigar-shaped. While contained in a yellowish to orange glow, it emitted a downward blue light, before once again departing in a flash, upwards. [13] A nearby town resident claimed to have found imprints of a small craft’s landing gear, some two months later.[14]

Because of this and other characteristics Valle, Febag and others challenged the conventional Hypothesis of real „nuts-and-bolts“-spacecraft
